A Day Camp for Children with Diabetes in Central Texas

Who Can Go to Camp?
    Children with diabetes and their siblings, ages 4 through 17.

When is Camp Bluebonnet?
    June 23-27, 2008
    9:00 am – 3:30 pm
    Check in at 8:30 am

When are the Parent Orientation Meetings?
    Wednesday, May 28th, 2008 at 7pm in the Deckard Auditorium 
          at the North Austin Regional Medical Center
    Saturday, May 31st, 2008  at 10am at REJ Conference Center at 15th and Congress

Where is Camp Bluebonnet?
    Camp Bluebonnet is held at the beautiful Peaceable Retreat Center for Children in Youngsport, Texas which is about an hour northwest of Austin on FM 2484.

What is the purpose of Camp Bluebonnet?
    · Camp Bluebonnet provides a camp experience for diabetic children in Central Texas to enjoy in an environment that provides for their unique health needs.
    ·
Diabetes education is provided for children and families with the goal of improving quality of life and prevention of long term complications that threaten the future of children with diabetes.
    ·
Camp Bluebonnet participants form long lasting friendships that provide support and reassurance that they are not alone throughout the year.
    ·
Because diabetes affect the whole family, the whole family is encouraged to participate in camp. 
    · Camp is fun!  Smiles abound on the faces of Camp Bluebonnet campers!
